Important material:

For Tikki:

  • 4-5 medium sized potatoes (550-600 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped coriander
  • 2 tablespoon rice flour or cornstarch
  • 4 tablespoon bread crumbs (or powdered poha)
  • ¾ tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp chaat masala (or 2 tsp lemon juice)
  • ½-½ tsp red chili powder
  • ¾ -1 tablespoon ginger (grated or paste)
  • 2 tablespoon chopped cashews (optional)
  • 1 finely chopped green chillies
  • Taste salt
  • Frying oil

Aloo tikki recipe

For stuffing (stuffing):
  • 1 cup peas
  • ¾ cup grated cheese (100 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green coriander
  • 1 tsp kasuri fenugreek
  • 2 tablespoon cashews
  • 1 tablespoon worn ginger
  • 1 chopped green chili
  • 4 tsp red chili powder
  • 4 tsp garam masala
  • 1½ tsp chaat masala
  • 4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp oil

Potato Tikki Method:

To prepare the fun, crispy aloo tikki, we have given some steps below, which you can easily make potato tikki at home by following.

Boil potatoes:

To make potato tikki, first wash and peel the potatoes and add a cup of water in a cooker and cook on medium flame till 3 to 5 seats. Potatoes should not be very soft. When cooled, you mash them and take it out in a bowl.

Stuffing preparation (optional):

Now take a pan. Heat one teaspoon of oil in it. Add cashews to it and fry it till it becomes light golden. After that add ginger, green chillies and fry for a few seconds. Now reduce the heat and add red chili powder, garam masala, chaat masala and salt to it. After that add peas to it and cook until the peas are soft. Make the peas light arms so that it mixes well in the cheese. After that, add kasuri fenugreek, coriander and grated, add cheese and mix well and turn off the gas.

Preparing a mixture of tikki:

Now it is the turn to prepare a mixture of potato tikki. For this, add chopped cashews, green chillies, garam masala, chaat masala, red chili powder, ginger, salt, coriander, rice flour, bread crumbs and mix well in armed potatoes. Knead this mixture thoroughly so that it becomes smooth and non-chipchipa. If the mixture looks wet, add some more bread crumbs.

Now it is the turn to make a stuffing to make a tikki, then do the stuffing in the above manner. Now make a bol shape with a mixture of potato and spicy it lightly. Then keep the stuffing in the middle of it and add the edge and shape the tikki. If you are making a tikki without staffing, then flatten the spherical tikki and shape the tikki.

Tikki fry:

Now it is the turn to fry the potato tikki, for which heat about half an inch of oil in a pan. Whether the oil is at the right temperature. To see this, put a little potato mixture in the oil. If it comes up immediately, the oil is the right gum. Now add tikki to it and allow it to fry for 3 to 4 minutes. Once the lower part of the tikki becomes golden and crisp, fry it till it turns golden from the other side.

Some important tips and tricks:

Potato, while boiling, note that it will not be too sore nor too soft, otherwise it will break at the time.

Do add bread crumbs or rice flour. This helps to make the tikki crisp.

Oil should be at the right temperature. By adding tikki to cold oil, it will absorb the oil and add more hot oil to it.

To turn the tikki, let the lower part of it become hard. Turning back quickly, it will break.
