How to make lentils:

Required material
To cook lentils:
- ½ cup lentil lentils (wash thorough)
- 2 medium tomatoes (finely chopped)
- 1 green chillies (applying)
- 1 4 to 1 ½ cup of water
To add temper:
- 1-2 tablespoon ghee or oil
- 4 tsp mustard seeds (optional)
- 1 ½ tsp cumin
- 2 garlic buds (finely chopped)
- 1-2 whole dry red chili
- 1 pinch asafetida
- 1 ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 4 to ½ tsp red chili powder (as per taste)
- ½ tsp garam masala (optional)
- 1 ½ tsp kasoori fenugreek (mash by hand)
- Salt taste
- Green coriander and lemon juice (for garnish)
Method of making lentil lentils:
To make lentils, you can adopt the step by step method below, so that you can make delicious lentils:
1. To make lentil dal, first of all you have to cook lentils, for which add lentils in a cooker or pot and wash it well.
2. Now add chopped tomatoes, green chillies and 1 ½ to 1 ½ cup of water. Add water and cook in the cooker till one whistle comes on the middle heat and then reduce the heat and turn off the gas after 2 to 3 minutes.
3. If you are making in the pot, boil water and add lentils to it and cook on low flame for 15 to 20 minutes. Keep removing the foam in between and if the water is less then add a little more.
4. When the lentils melted well, make it light with a spoon. If needed, make the right consistance by mixing two-three tbsp hot water.
5. Now it is the turn to apply tempering in lentils, for which heat ghee or oil in a small pen and add mustard seeds, cumin, garlic and whole red chili.
6. When the garlic becomes light golden, reduce the heat and add asafetida, turmeric powder, red chili powder and fry it lightly.
7. After this, immediately put this tempering in the lentils and mix well. And finally add salt, garam masala and kasoori fenugreek and let the dal cook on low flame for 2 minutes so that the taste of the tempering is mixed in the lentils.
8. Now turn off the gas and garnish the lentils with finely chopped coriander and lemon juice. You can serve it with hot rice, roti, paratha, papad, salad.
If your lentils are old, soak it in hot water for 30 minutes. This will hug your lentils quickly. To enhance the taste of lentils, you can also add carrots, spinach, onion or moong dal to the lentils. If you like to eat light, you can also make it by adding salt, turmeric and cumin.
